WE ARE NOT HERE TO…

Talking to some friends in the last days made me realise that so often times as freelancers we have to point out that we are working and we are not wasting time or twiddling our thumbs all the day.

We are not here to

To express this idea in Italy we usually say “Non siamo mica qui a pettinar le bambole” (literally “We are not here to comb the dolls”, and in Spanish “No estamos en nada a peinar las muñecas”), but on the Internet I found many alternatives that we could use to make people stand open-mouthed.

We are not here… (Non siamo mica qui…)

…to eat bon bons (…a mangiare caramelle)

…to bake cookies (…a fare i biscotti)

…to do hamsters’ nails (…a dare lo smalto ai criceti)

…to make monkeys/camels/walruses dance (…a far ballare le scimmie/i cammelli/i trichechi)

…to chit-chat (…a fare due chiacchiere)

…to play games (…a giocare)

…to unwind pythons (…a srotolare i pitoni)

…to give water to mussels (…a dar da bere alle cozze)

…to make ants cross the street (…a far attraversare le formiche)
